All major dents were removed, two or three frozen slides were freed (including one extremely frozen one that a slide hammer ultimately took care of. This was my first customer horn that I fixed using magnets and it resulted in some very good work that, conveniently, didn’t require any major unsoldering. This lacquer is very sparkly – which I haven’t seen before except on one brand of saxophone whose name escapes me right now – and is also very delicate. A portion of the lacquer was sacrificed at the bottom of the first branch because I desoldered the guard to remove a large dent, and some more was already heavily disturbed at the hump in the bell where it bends over. |
