Conn 10M Naked Lady – Tenor
This Conn 10M came in for a mechanical overhaul. I learned that this saxophone was relacquered at some point, which was evident in all of the post holes and pivot screw threads where I found a lot of left over buffing compound.
This sax required a lot of tone hole levelling, key fitting, cleaning, some dent removal in the bow, a complete set of new pads from Ferree’s (.185 thickness) with plastic resonators (which I installed), and precision neck fitting. The owner also requested a second neck strap hook to be placed near the side Bb, which I fabricated to look a lot like the original except for a cut off of the diamond shape to allow full travel of the side Bb key.
